Our History The origins of Fleet Services, Inc. began in 1957. The founder of the company was Mr. Sidney B. Slocum. It was first called Slocum/Braeger Car Lease, then a few years later it was renamed, Slocum Car Lease Corp. From the very beginning, the company focused its business plan, providing a full range of vehicle: lease types, maintenance, administration and other services, to the Milwaukee area commercial market. Vehicles primarily used for business. Its principle, was, "Service First." A Brief History of Fleet Services In the years 1966 to 1968, through the acquisition of another Milwaukee based entity, the company expanded its services capabilities to a national level and changed its name to Fleet Services, Inc. The combination of these resources allowed the company to begin offering a total array of vehicle services to fleets of over 3,000 units located all over the USA, without changing the concept of its original business plan; which was and still is to provide real value with a totally open approach to pricing of vehicle acquisition, financing, maintenance, administration and the sale of out-of-service vehicles. In 1994, fifty percent of the company was acquired by Christopher T. Hoar, while the Slocum family retained the other fifty percent. New growth of the company's resources developed along with the division of Fleet Capital Services, which offers equipment leasing/financing programs, Fleet's Finest Used Cars—a retail used car outlet, based in Milwaukee—and a special program called In 1998 Mr. Hoar acquired the balance of the stock from the Slocum family and became its sole owner. In 1999 a separate division, On a more philosophical note, the foundation of the company in 1957 was focused on providing service to its clients. Fleet has undergone several changes throughout its existence; but the one basic element its owners have always strived to offer is real value at a low cost. In times when people more often than not seek first the so called, "cheapest interest rate" or the "lowest monthly payment." The true cost of a vehicle-service must consider the overall life-cycle value realized by the client. At Fleet, "It is our Mission to Serve." With that understanding, we will take the time to learn what the unique needs of each client are and then provide the right solution for each individual client.
